A citizen-led petition initiative in Florida is one step closer to getting onto the November ballot. If it does, Floridians will have the opportunity to vote to enshrine abortion rights in the state constitution. This is hugely important for the rights and freedoms of Floridians, the 3rd most populous state. Equally important, Florida is a safe haven for women seeking abortions across the south east, as the surrounding states have abortion bans in place, so the results will have a far reaching impact on women’s access to reproductive care.
