DOGE claims it’s making government more efficient, however its actions are disorganized, potentially illegal and deeply harmful to future generations. According to EPI, DOGE is “a bad-faith effort rooted in ignorance and a knee-jerk desire to shrink the federal government, both for ideological reasons and the creation of space to preserve the tax cuts for the rich and corporations that will be locked in later this year.”
- Working conditions are chaotic, there is uncertainty about who has a job, workers are fired then offered their jobs back
- Routine processes have been stopped and no planning can take place
- Workers with outstanding job evaluations are being fired for underperforming, creating an environment where workers are incredibly demoralized
- Workers don’t have the funding to do their jobs, especially with work credit card spending capped at $1
