Project 2025 would give Trump unprecedented presidential powers. It poses a serious risk to our democracy, yet the majority of Americans have never even heard of it. Trump knows most Americans will be alarmed by Project 2025, which is why he is now claiming he is not familiar with it even though it was written by several former Trump appointees, many of whom are working on the 2024 RNC platform.
Some goals of Project 2025
- Complete federal ban on abortions and contraceptives
- Additional tax breaks for corporations and top 1%
- Mass deportation of immigrants and incarceration in “camps”
- End marriage equality and condemn single mothers
- End climate protections, increase drilling
- Cut Medicare and end the Affordable Care Act
- Eliminate the Department of Education
- Withdraw federal anti-discrimination protections for transgender students
